Sometimes I come upon a scripture or have a thought about something and I go back into our database of old Updates to find a piece that I know addressed the subject before. I was reminded of that when my phone somehow connected itself to the radio and began playing a song that has spoken volumes to me… I can’t tell you the number of times the Holy Spirit has gotten my attention by doing something in the natural like that. It’s just His way of talking to me through words and pictures, many times outside the Word of God, and it keeps me on my toes.
I remember walking into the sanctuary of a small Assembly of God church we belonged to that was the seat of beginning my journey in becoming a teacher of the Word. My first attempt, not of my choosing, was with the sweetest bunch of high school kids that loved the Lord and each other you could ever want to spend time with. Well, as I walked into the church one of the girls who was a beautiful pianist was playing a song that captured my attention. When I asked her what it was she told me that it was new and it spoke to her of what Moses felt when he was leading the Israelites through the wilderness. She played and sang it for me and I was immediately lifted in thought about where we are as the bride of Christ. The message of that song from the early 90s has been a constant companion of mine for all these years and has underpinned the message the Lord has given me to share with His bride.
I want you to set aside 3 minutes and 49 seconds of quite time and let the message, the heart cry, of this song fill your spirit. Oh how I have sung these verses in my quite time with the Lord, when it’s just Him and me sitting on that bench made for 2 in His garden. The message is, for me, the key to understanding what Paul wrote about in so many ways that has become the burning desire in my heart… the message that Jesus has given me that puts all else in perspective for those of us who are true believers in Jesus Christ.
Rom 8:29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
2 Cor 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Listen closely and let the words fill your spirit with a fresh commitment to spend more time in His presence, surrounded by His Glory. The more you let that message minister to your heart the more you will “Want To Be Where He Is.”
