Four Keys to Walking

As Jesus’ bride we have been blessed with amazing promises. But we have also been challenged with what it requires of us along the way in becoming conformed into His image.

This morning the Holy Spirit reminded me of four keys to walking with Jesus through this life. As I studied them, I was reminded that the knowledge of how we use them resides in the life of Christ that has been given us … the knowledge we have already “received” to allow Him to live His life in and through us.

Walk in the Light

Eph 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light … We do not have to look for what we already have; just stay in the light and share it and avoid going back into darkness.

Walk in Love

Eph 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor … He has given us His love and we are to walk in and share His love because we are the aroma of Christ … we are the love of Christ.

Walk in Wisdom

Col 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time … Use the wisdom He gives us to focus on today … We cannot change yesterday and tomorrow is not here; do not waste precious time in either place, robbing the time that is dedicated for today.

Walk in Simplicity

Col 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in himThe moment we became His bride He endowed us with His Spirit; all we will ever need to walk through this life. Our challenge is to choose to walk … not behind, not ahead, but “With God.”

A wonderful exercise is to look up all the places in the Bible where you find the words … “Walk in.”
