The Cul-De-Sac of Life

Most of are generally right with God, but there are some areas in which we are careless. It is not a question of sin; it is the remains of our old carnal life, which make us negligent and are an insult to the Holy Spirit.

There should be nothing careless in the way we worship God. Not only must our relationship to Him be right, but our expression of that relationship must also be right. If not, we can be sure that He will deal with it. Every detail of our life is under His scrutiny, and He will bring us back to the same point over and over again until we deal with it.

I have always referred to this being put into the cul-de-sac of life.  The Holy Spirit never tires of bringing us to the point at hand until we learn the lesson. He is only focused on producing the finished product. With the most persistent patience He will send us back into the cul-de-sac of life again and again to deal with the issue we keep avoiding. He is trying to impress upon us the one thing that is not entirely right, as the Holy Spirit said through James …

James 1:4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. NIV

Maturity!

Yes, our journey through this life under the leadership and guidance of the Holy Spirit is all about moving on from the Cross of Redemption to Spiritual Maturity; the image of Christ (Rom 8:29). And whatever it is that is standing in our way He will point it out with persistence until we deal with it and are entirely in agreement with Him.  And that requires getting out of the cul-de-sac of life through obedience to His Word.
